Whenever I have travelled and someone has asked me what my home town is like I always end up talking about beautiful lake Rotorua and it's ever present black swans. To me this photo represents the Rotorua way, as the birds seem to show a welcome and curious spirit, with some modesty thrown in the mix. Lake Rotorua is a massive focal point for countless tourists visiting Rotorua, and I think that the swans there greet them with as much enthusiasm and interest as us local people do. The Rotorua way is that of welcome, hospitality and sharing of our culture, nature and lifestyle with those who visit us here from all over the world.
