Rural Waste Collection 2021
Consultation has concluded
The consultation into the extension of Rural Waste Collection for Ngakuru, Upper Atiamuri and Horohoro has now closed.
Rotorua Lakes Council wants to provide Rotorua households with access to convenient, economical and sustainable waste services. Feedback has indicated that residents in Ngakuru, Upper Atiamuri and Horohoro are interested in receiving a waste collection service that is paid for through their rates.
Rubbish and recycling collections have been successful in other rural areas of Rotorua and we want to know if we should be extending this service to Ngakuru, Upper Atiamuri and Horohoro. Read more information and FAQs here. See the map of the households being consulted, here.
Let us know before 31 July 2021: Do you support the proposed Council rubbish and recycling collections in your community?
YES – I support the proposed Council rubbish and recycling collections in my community
This means the waste collection service would be extended to include the Ngakuru, Upper Atiamuri and Horohoro communities, and this service would be added to your property’s annual rates.
or NO – I don’t support the proposed Council rubbish and recycling collections in my community
This means that households in your community would need to continue using alternative methods or private contractors to manage household rubbish and recycling, and this service would not be added to your annual rates.
