This map shows the service extension that was adopted by Council. Households on green roads will receive the kerbside waste service in January 2021, and have it added to their rates automatically in the 2022/2023 rating year. Households on orange roads will not receive Council's waste service.
Extending the service to unsealed roads was not recommended by the Rural Community Board due to low participation and inconsistent responses from households on these roads during consultation.
However, Council is keen to work with residents who live on unsealed roads, and who would like to opt into a waste collection service that uses wheelie bin drop-off points as an alternative to kerbside collection. If your road is unsealed, but you would like to opt into Council’s waste collection service, please email info@rotorualc.nz with your address and contact details.
