Terms and conditions

There are 5 x $50 Prezzy cards to be won. To be eligible you must complete the survey before 11.55pm Thursday 11 August. One entry per person only. Personal information will be kept strictly in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020. We will select 5 entries at random and Rotorua Lakes Council will notify the winner by 31 August 2022. From time to time, Rotorua Lakes Council will run Giveaways or Competitions through its channels to encourage readership and visitation, as well as promote Rotorua Lakes Council and other events with partners.

The following Terms and Conditions apply to all Giveaways and Competitions, in addition to any special terms and conditions, which will be published through Council’s channels at the time when the respective Giveaway and Competition will be promoted. By entering a Competition or Giveaway, entrants are deemed to have read, understood and accepted the following general Terms and Conditions:

1. All information on how to enter and eligibility for prizes forms part of these terms and conditions. By entering any contest (‘Contest’) entrants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

2. The Promoter is Rotorua Lakes Council, 1061 Haupapa St, Rotorua 3046, New Zealand (‘Promoter’ and “RLC”).
3. Entry is open to people who live in New Zealand.
4. The Promotion runs from the period stated on the Promotion material (‘Promotional Period’). Entries received after a specified closing date will not be accepted.
5. Participants will enter the Competition through the RLC Korero Mai website, the main platform for the survey. Following completion of the survey, RLC will post generic results of the survey to RLC’s Facebook and Instagram pages. No personal information will be contained in the generic results.
6. Entries that include partial information, or are submitted by or through dishonest means, fraud or other illegal activity, or entries not complying with these terms and conditions, are invalid.
7. The Prize draw will take place at Rotorua Lakes Council. The winners will be drawn at random unless otherwise stated, from all eligible entries received during the Promotional Period, following which the winners will be contacted via the Let’s Talk | Korero Mai website.
8. If a winner does not wish to accept the Prize or if contact cannot be made with a winner within 2 days of the draw, the winner will be deemed to have forfeited the Prize and the Promoter will draw a new winner.
9. If any advertised Prize (or part of the Prize) is unavailable, the Promoter, in its discretion, reserves the right to substitute the prize with a prize to the equal or greater value and/or specification. The Prize is not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash.
10. Nothing in these terms and conditions is intended to exclude, restrict or modify a consumer's rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993. These terms and conditions must be read subject to those statutory provisions and will not affect any statutory rights that an entrant may have in relation to the return of a prize.
11. The Promoter, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to cancel, suspend, terminate or modify the Promotion or any part of the Promotion if fraud, technical failures or any other factor beyond the Promoter's reasonable control adversely affect the Promoter's ability to conduct the Promotion or part of the Promotion as contemplated in these terms and conditions. Any cancellation or modification to the Promotion will be notified on the Promoter's website.
12. The Promoter takes no responsibility for lost, damaged, misdirected, late, illegible or incomplete registrations or entries, incorrect or inaccurate transcription of entry information, or for any human error, technical malfunctions, lost/delayed data transmission, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, line failures, failures of computer equipment or software, inability to access telecommunications network services, corruption of any format holding an entry, failure of a winner to collect the Prize or any other error or malfunction.
13. The Promoter’s decisions on all matters relating to this promotion are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
14. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand Courts.
15. The Promoter will collect; use; store; allow access to and correct personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020. Any disclosure of Personal information would be strictly in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy Act 2020.
