The unprecedented move to Alert Level 4 in March this year caused undeniable stress for many households in Rotorua. For some, that anxiety is ongoing.

At the same time, we recognise for some people, the opportunity to spend time in their homes and in their neighbourhoods was an unexpected benefit. It was easy to see from the number of people walking, cycling and just enjoying nature in their neighbourhoods that there has been a behaviour change for some.

Now that we can reflect on that time, Council would like to know if, as a result, you and your whānau spend more time in the parks and reserves in your neighbourhood. We want to know how you use these spaces, what you value most and what features are most important to you.

By completing the survey below you can help Rotorua Lakes Council better understand how residents value their neighbourhood parks and reserves.

The survey isn't related to any particular project or future action plan. However, understanding what is most valuable will help Council in planning for sport, recreation and environment projects and work programmes.

Feedback how now closed. Thank you to everyone that took the time to complete the survey.

Get the kids involved and win!

This competition has now closed - the winner will be contacted on Monday 10 August

Encourage the tamariki in your household to draw a picture of the park they use most and they will go into the draw to win a family pass to check out the Redwoods Treewalk! We also some family passes for the Rotorua Aquatic Centre to give away as spot prizes.

Create a picture of the park, including what they like most about it, and send it in to Council. Be sure to include things like their favourite playground equipment, their favourite trees or sports they like to play at the park.

Print a full name and contact details on the back of the picture so we can get in touch with the winner.

You can send the picture in in by emailing a copy to info@rotorualc.nz or by dropping a copy into our Customer Centre at 1061 Haupapa Street Rotorua (open Mon - Fri 8am - 5pm). Please make sure your picture is sent or dropped into Council by Friday 7 August 2020.

The winning picture will be drawn on Monday 10 August 2020 with the winner notified that afternoon.
