Vision 2030 and the Long Term Plan

Vision 2030 & the Long Term Plan

Created in 2013, the district’s long-term vision created an enduring
pathway for the Rotorua district, driving everything we do as we work
with our community to achieve a positive future.

A refresh following the 2016 elections, The Rotorua Way, identified
Rotorua’s strengths and opportunities to build on those, providing a clear direction to focus on for the next chapter in the district’s progress.

The Draft Spatial Plan has clear objectives as our district grows and clearly outlines where and how we will accommodate growth in the district.

The Rotorua Way & the Draft Spatial Plan has guided the development of our proposed 2018-28 Long-term Plan which, as this consultation document outlines, puts the focus on projects and programmes which will enhance our district’s strengths.

Once finalised and adopted, the Long-term Plan will be our action plan, setting out how we will deliver and fund what we’ve set out to achieve.

It is Council’s commitment to the community to deliver services and projects that contribute towards the vision and the district’s strengths in a financially prudent way, balancing the challenges of affordability in the present while meeting the demands for future progress.
