Public Notice of Decisions on Plan Change 1: Minor Changes
Rotorua Lakes Council notifies its decisions on the provisions and matters raised in submissions on Plan Change 1: Minor Changes to the District Plan.
Council voted at its meeting on the 27th September 2018 to accept the commissioners’ recommendations on both the plan change and the submissions.
Plan Change 1 corrects minor errors and inconsistencies in the District Plan and adds cross-references between sections where gaps have been identified. The most notable amendments relate to:
Development within the Air Noise surrounding the Airport;
Apartment development within the City Centre and Commercial Zones;
Clarification around Minor Household Units within the Residential and Rural Zones;
Rural 2 Zone subdivision requirements - consistent references to 'net' site area;
Florey Heights, Tihi Road and Gallagher Street - rezoning identified areas back to Residential 1 Zone; and
From 6 October 2018, the provisions of the plan change are amended in accordance with this decision.

No appeals have been received.
Plan Change 1 is operative under section 86F of the RMA and the existing provisions inoperative.
