The Council has an important role to play under the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 to ensure the sale, supply, and consumption of alcohol in our district is undertaken safely and responsibly. This means minimising alcohol-related harm felt in our communities due to its misuse. To support this responsibility, we are reviewing our Local Alcohol Policy (LAP). A LAP sets certain rules and conditions on alcohol licenses such as: trading hours, one-way door restrictions and the location of premises.
To develop a new LAP we would like to understand the community's views and experiences related to alcohol, its use and its impact on our rohe - district. Your whakaaro - thoughts and whakahokinga kōrero – feedback, will help to shape policies that promote a healthier community for everyone. Once we have a draft of the new LAP, we'll share it with the community for feedback before it’s finalised.
*Terms and conditions to enter the prize draw to win one of two $100 Prezzy cards: You must complete the survey to enter the draw. The winner will be randomly selected from among qualifying responses by 12 February 2025. Entries are limited to one per person.
